Robert Lickley Refractories is entering its sixth decade as a trusted UK manufacturer supplying technically advanced refractory products into the thermal industry. With a solid reputation in the steel sector and growing opportunities across emerging markets, we’re now looking for an ambitious, commercially-minded Business Development Manager to join us during a pivotal stage of strategic growth.
This is a brand-new role, designed to focus on winning new business and driving long-term commercial partnerships. It’s an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our sales approach, grow your influence in a technical manufacturing business, and be part of an ambitious team delivering British-made innovation to industries that build the world.

Responsibilities
- Win and grow key accounts, focused on a partnership model creating long-term value for both sides
- Develop and execute strategic growth plans
- Identify new business opportunities and market trends
- Build and strengthen client relationships
- Collaborate with internal teams to maximise and leverage market trends, developments and opportunities
- Collaborate across departments to bring new ideas to life and shape our product offering
Must Have
- 5+ years in B2B sales or business development in refractories
- Proven success winning and growing major accounts
- Strong relationship-building and client engagement skills
- Commercially astute with a proactive, self-driven mindset
- Able to work independently and shape strategic sales directio
- Eligible to work in the UK

- Comfortable contributing to product development and go-to-market strategy
- Insight into market trends around decarbonisation in heavy industry
